What's for dinner?

Cooking in Africa has been an adventure.

Lunch is usually the biggest meal in Senegalese homes. It can take a long time to cook, so people usually eat between 2 and 4 in the afternoon. Most dishes here consist of a large plate of rice with sauce and meat and vegetables piled in the middle.

Traditionally, everyone eats out of the same plate. The food here is delicious. I think Senegal has the best food in Africa.

But at our house, we eat American food. It is different though, because everything has to be made from scratch and only one store in the capital sells American brands of food. But so far we have been able to make some great stuff.

2- Sunrise over the water
3- Dinner at a friend's house. We made Cebu Jenn, the national dish of Senegal. It was amazing.
4- The call to prayer.
